GOVERNMENT HOUSE,

HONGKONG. 27th June, 1922.

With reference to Lord Milner's despatch- No.185 of the 3rd June, 1920, I have the honour to address

20 you in regard to a proposed re-adjustment of the boundaries

of Quarry Bay Marine Lot No.4 and Quarry Bay Inland Lot No. 4 which has become necessary on account of a recent revision of the aligment of the Shaukiwan Road. This diversion from the aligment previously approved is considered advisable in order to provide areas of suitable depth for development on the seaward side of the road. The proposed diversion is shown on the key plan enclosed herewith.

2.

I would recommend therefore that extensions

to these two lots be granted subject to the following terms:-

(1) Quarry Bay Marine Lot No. 4.

(a) The lease of Quarry Bay Marine Lot No. 4 to include

the area edged yellow on plan No. 2 containing about

88,953 square feet and to be subject to all the clause and covenants with respect to the grant of that lot

in addition to the following.

(b) The lessee to pay into the Colonial Treasury within

seven days from the date of a letter from the

Director of Public Works stating that the area is

at the disposal of the lessee, the sum of 844,477,00

being premium for the extension at the rate of 50

cents per square foot.

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE

WINSTON CHURCHILL, M.P.,
